Orikami’s KRANE™ platform selected for NWO-funded Care is Coming Home! research programme
We are proud to share that the Care is Coming Home! project has received €4 million in NWO TTW Perspectief funding. KRANE™ will serve as the digital data platform for the programme.
Care is Coming Home! is a six-year research initiative led by TU Delft. It brings together six university medical centres, three technical universities, and more than 20 industry partners. Together, they develop home-based monitoring and treatment technology for patients with chronic conditions — rheumatoid arthritis, stroke, and Parkinson’s disease.
The programme follows a SENSE, THINK, ACT structure. First, sensors collect movement and symptom data at home. Then, algorithms turn that data into clinically useful insights. Finally, those insights drive personalised treatment and interventions.
Orikami contributes to the data management and infrastructure work package. Specifically, KRANE™ captures, structures, and manages patient data across all three research lines. In addition, the consortium integrates a change point analysis algorithm directly on the platform. This algorithm helps researchers detect meaningful shifts in a patient’s condition over time.
Furthermore, the collaboration includes PhD secondments to Orikami. As a result, researchers gain hands-on experience with a regulated, production-grade digital health platform. The programme runs through 2031.
We look forward to working with the consortium to make home-based care a clinical reality.
